We understand that one approach does not suit every project or company, and we take the time to listen and understand your requirements. Although each project is somewhat unique, our engagement with you as our client typically follows these steps:
The first step is to arrange a telephone call with us to discuss your project. Just call us at (973) 729 9427, or send us an email describing your project and requesting a call. This call is completely free of charge or obligation, and simply helps us learn about you and your project. On the call we can also answer any questions you may have about us, our experience or next steps in the process.
After we feel we understand the requirements and goals for the project, in many cases we will be able to furnish you with a statement of work describing what will be done, as well as a rough estimate of the time and cost that is likely to be associated with your project. For much larger projects requiring more extensive investigation on our part into one or more particular aspects of the project, we may arrange for a small pre-project phase to commence. In most other cases we will have been able to determine a general idea of the scope of the project.
Depending on the size of the project, any technical unknowns or uncertainties, as well as the level of certainty regarding the required functionality, we may propose either a fixed-cost project, or alternatively we may feel that a per-hour arrangement may be best. As a general rule, the more we can know for certain about the nature of the project, the more likely it will be that we can confidently place a cost and time range on your project.
At this point the final statement of work and the agreed upon costs are attached to a standard development agreement. If your company prefers, you may produce your own agreement for our review, or we can provide one of our own. Typically some portion of our development fee will be paid at this time in advance to guarantee a slot in our development schedule, and the work will commence.
During the project we will be in regular contact with you, and there is opportunity to consult with us regularly on project status. Depending on the nature of the project there may be an opportunity to deliver prototypes or early versions of your application in order to review screens or user interface flow.
As our implementation phase completes, we arrange for the delivery and testing of the finished project to you. Quality testing is performed by your personnel, or our team, or a combination of both, and the project is declared complete upon mutual agreement of an acceptable level of quality. Upon payment of the final portion of our fee, the source code associated with the project is released to you, and the project is complete.
